Gabrielle Muñoz is a third-year clinical psychology PsyD student at Roosevelt University, working at WCG on diagnostic assessment cases at select locations. At Roosevelt, Gabrielle is pursuing the Child and Family concentration due to her long-standing passion for working with diverse children, adolescents, and families. Gabrielle has provided individual and family therapy to individuals ranging from four to 17 years old with varied cultural backgrounds, LGBQ identities, disability conditions, and socioeconomic statuses in past clinical settings. Additionally, Gabrielle has worked with a broad range of clinical issues, including ADHD, ASD, depression, general anxiety, social anxiety, learning disabilities, complex trauma, grief, sleeping disorders, chronic pain conditions, relationship conflicts, school refusal, internalized stigma, and identity development issues. Before becoming a doctoral student, Gabrielle was an Applied Behavioral Analyst (ABA) therapist for two years, providing ABA therapy to verbal and non-verbal children and adolescents with ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities, communication disorders, and to children with other medical conditions, such as epilepsy, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders.
Their approach to treatment is a strengths-based, intersectional, and humanistic approach that is collaborative and integrates psychodynamic techniques, mindfulness, somatic approaches, ACT, and DBT techniques. Gabrielle prioritizes enhancing the therapeutic relationship by tailoring therapy to the needs of clients and their families, establishing safety and acceptance of all identities, and intentionally connecting with clients in a genuine manner through humor, play, art, music, and dance. In her free time, she loves to long-distance run by the lake, play with her labradoodle, practice meditation, paint, hike in nature, and go to music concerts.
